Re: Get rid of your tummy!

https://proteinpower.com/drmike/2011/09/25/wheat-belly/ A good link and quick plain explanation of "Wheat Belly", lol. Thanks (by Perfesser » Mon Apr 09, 2012 4:05 pm) I do note that Asian people exist mostly on rice and many live >100yrs. There are rice farms even in Canada. I wonder.......

Re: Winter Weather 2018

We were snowed in for a couple of days, as the plows were very busy on the main highways. If you don't have a big pick up or the equivelant, you don't get out. For us, we have a little Aveo, with good winters, but couldn't get our driveway plowed as all our regular guys had broken equipment. Our ne...

Re: Ask a leader alternative energy questions here

Does anyone have any good, reliable sources? I'm in the learning stages. So far I've found some bit of info here and there, but I find a lot of off-grid and sustainable energy blogs or companies touting some claims about solar and wind energy that seem very optimistic to say the least. In the far fu...

Re: What have you added to your preps this week?

Nice gift RachelM. A tough year ahead. Are you attending medical school at UofT, Western, McMaster, Ottawa, Queen's, or NOSOM? I haven't got a medical school offer yet, but I've applied internationally to Newcastle, Keele, Birmingham, and Cardiff in England/Wales. Medicine is a direct-entry there f...

Re: What have you added to your preps this week?

The difference between canning meats, versus most vegetables is that the acidity of pickling veggies and fuits usually allows you to simply do imersion canning. (Dunk in pot of boiling water) With meats this is not enough, because the lack of acidity can allow Clostridium botulinum bacteria to grow...

Re: Winter Weather 2018

Haven't had this much snow this early since I was a kid. Doing OK in Niagara. Our flock of 5 'lawn ducks' seem happy to be loose. I've nicknamed them snow slugs because they leave 'slug trails' in the snow. Finally got snow tires on my car instead of my bald all seasons. Opened some pickles last nig...

A beautiful brand new copy of Gray's Anatomy (the medical textbook, not the show!) from family for Christmas and some other texts to help me in school this fall! Hope Christmas and New Years was good to you all!

Buying Bullion

Hello everyone, I've been making a point to buy a bit of precious metals, mainly silver as gold is so damn expensive. I'd like to get into gold, and I've been looking into buy the tiny 1g coins/bars or fraction-ounce coins. Problem being is that they end up being more expensive by weight it seems to...
