Re: Tower Gardens

Here is my attempt at the tower. I have lettuce on top and strawberries along the sides. (I didn't have enough strawberries or time so there are a few gaps along the top.) One of my rain barrels got damaged and wouldn't hold water. I was given a section of stove pipe to put in the middle to aid in w...

Re: Tree of 40 Fruits

As we have space for trees the decision was made to stick with one variety per tree. If you are limited for space and can prote...

Re: Northern Living?

I worked up past Moosonee for a year and a half a decade ago. Winters got very cold and windy. Frost bite in less that 5 minutes warnings were common. You will be South of where I was but heating will be a big cost. Consider getting a property on a paved road if possible. Driving on poorly maintaine...

If it grows well in a ditch it will grow well in your garden. Look for native plants that you can neglect le...

Re: Prepping with a newborn..

Making your own baby food is supper easy and frugal. We use a magic bullet at home and this when we go out. http://www.amazon.ca/Munchkin-13701-Baby-Grinder-Colors/dp/B000GB0NZA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357277878&sr=8-1
It’s only good for soft food in baby sized portions.
