Will you be stocking any tools? Items like peaves, hand drills, pull shaves would be great and are harder to find. Anything that would allow you to build without power would be great.

Good to hear your okay and that your security held up. I have always been a believer that it is a mistake to think that the police will protect you. They only show up after the crime, and in your case, not at all. You are your best protection and quite often, your only protection.

Target the knees with a short kick. Works both standing and from the ground. It will take them out of the fight quickly evening up the numbers. A rapid offensive attack using this tactic will take back the initiative.

You should always have a backup plan. Zombies not so much (unless you consider a virus as an analogy for a zombie), but for civil unrest, ebola, natural disaster for sure.

That is really common with .22 rounds. I have had no negative effects from it though. As for the brass, that is just humidity. Again, no ill effects.
