Yes, Blankets for the freezer( and fridge). never enough blankets. I tried something with polyurethane sheets last year but instantly got mold...and then forgot about it. I should get back to experimenting on that. One more use for second hand wool blankets I was given a dozen of those thick quilte...

Arctic cold snap ? I thought this was a normal winter in Alberta.. I have a wood stove that will get my house hotter then my wife will let me.. Wood is not a problem. Loots of fire wood.. and last year i picked up some large skids that had oak beams in them. Amazing for heat. i only use one block a ...

Really it comes down to what your needing from a farmer.. but they wont trust your seeds.. may or may not trust your fuel.. I would take ammo for trade if someone needed a pile of veggies or fruit.. Ammo (22's for sure) will always be needed... I forgot to mention that I collect all the mini sample ...

My wife is always mad at me. I eat once a day.. usually at supper time. No matter how hard i work or the temps im working in.. I do however drink lots of liquids..

I managed to fill my three deer tags.. nothing huge but they are food. I had done some fence work this summer for a farmer. He raises All natural beef. His wife called and told me i am getting 1/2 a beef from them as a bonus for the extra work i did with them not asking and me not asking for anythin...

This summer we lost power for 24 hours while it was hot.. Last winter lost power for more then 4 days.. I have a wood stove that i heat my house with in the winter.. was cool in the basement but the house was still in the high 20's For power i have two different gen sets, I have a 300 gallon cistern...

Sounds like some tags are getting filled.. last weekend i seemed to have caught the flue.. its been beating me up pretty bad.. i aim to be out friday and saturday.. Buddy of mine has a farmer that will let me hunt out at his place.. no one has been there for three years. I hope this gamble pays off....
