Right Now.

We had been married 24 years, and were still having a great time together. It was a relationship with good communication and mutual respect. We had always encouraged each other in pursuing our goals, and in learning new things. When we started prepping, it was no different. We had plans, and sacrifi...

Re: Looking for Nova Scotia / Atlantic Canada Preppers

HI Carl, hope your sufficiently snuggled in this winter. I looked at your website, and you do have a beautiful spot. It doesn't look like you really made any headway finding folks to help paint your fence, at least not through this channel. One of the things I have found here in Atlantic Canada, is ...

Re: Notes from 2 years in Nova Scotia

I am on the old family farm in rural Pictou county. The soil here is much richer and far less rocky than up at my in laws in Margaree area of CB. Lots of wild apples, cherries, and several types of berries. Hazel nuts do very well, but you have to get them before the birds and squirrels. Water table...

Re: Perfect hideaway

Sounds like a sweet chunk of the world up there copticruiser. Hope you do get a good neighbour, and that in return, you are a good neighbour to them. Makes all the difference in the world knowing your back is covered by the adjoining property. We had a great neighbour right next to us, until he past...

Re: Aloha from rural-ish NS!

Thanks for the welcome Lee. Pretty sure there's something named after you tucked up in the floor joists at my wife's aunt's place next door, but can't quite remember what it is... Yup, finally some nice warm days. Might have to look into one of those driveway alarms for the eventual brief period in ...

Re: Aloha from rural-ish NS!

Thanks for the welcome farmgal. Been thinking a lot about way to increase security during a bugging in situation here on our property. Some places have the advantage of height, with few approaches and great sightlines, but not here. Some places are fortified with big walls and imposing gates, but th...

Thanks R.S.

Finally getting some warm weather here in NS, course it's been warm in the greenhouse for two months. Spinach and lettuce are being consumed and the tomatoes are set. Life is good!

Aloha from rural-ish NS!

Thanks for opening the door! Very pleased to meet you all, and especially now, while the lights are mostly still on! We are a family living semi-rurally in here in NS. Our young children are the 5th generation on this property, and by the grace, many more will follow. No, I'm not a wear camo into to...
