Re: The most realistic blackout breakdown ive ever seen!

Before I retired from the police department, I worked organized crime, narcotics, tactical, general patrol and traffic in the GTA. I even did a nine month stint as a member of an outlaw motorcycle gang. I'm well aware of the criminal element in a major city, from a police perspective and as a crimin...

Re: Rifle Selection and Ammo Availability

...big guns and big holes off paper isn't necessarily better than a few small holes centre of mass. The moral of the story is that it's up to the shooter: anyone can put any sized holes on target with practice. Personally, I try to choose the correct round/weapon/optics for the job. This is primari...

Re: The most realistic blackout breakdown ive ever seen!

A real danger to safety would exist. I don't believe that 48 hours would cause the problems depicted in the video to occur on mass. Most households have supplies for a couple of days. Milk, juice and pop in the fridge, apples, bags of chips, bread, cans of soup, etc. Added to this is 40 plus gallons...

Re: Rifle Selection and Ammo Availability

Nice pic. The last time I looked at a JR it was $1100. It seems to be a nice piece, but it's not cost-effective for me. The sub 2k is sweet and may be worth consideration. I really like it's folding ability and compatibility with the Glock mags. Thanks for posting.

Re: Go Tenna

You make a good point. In a SHTF scenario however, I'm not concerned about licensing; as I see this as 'emergency use only.' I respect the law, but circumstances dictate action. Few will starve to death before breaking into a grocery store that's full of food. If I find myself in need of communicati...

Re: Are You in Nova Scotia???

Thanks Holistic. There are a couple of us in the Eastern Passage area. It would be good to get together and chat. It sounds like you would have a lot to offer us less experienced folks.

Kind regards,

Re: My Battle Rifle project

Nice rifle but a bolt action is kind of slow for a M.B.R. ... If you're in a combat situation (head-to-head) I would agree. The ideal weapon to choose is dependent on application. More precisely the range and terrain being negotiated. For civilian use, shortest to longest I'd recommend: handgun, sh...

...My second favourite is tictac candy by eating just one candy at a time, let it kind of melt (tic tac is quite hard so it'll last long) and make the minty feeling on your mouth. If your mouth produce the saliva then just swallow it. So its like I drink my own saliva. A chewing gum might also do t...

Re: The most realistic blackout breakdown ive ever seen!

I found this interesting, but a bit farfetched. I don't think the situation would deteriorate as quickly as is depicted (no appreciation for the rule of threes). It does however underline how exposure to people you come in contact with can cause a negative or positive effect on your ability to survi...
