Re: TGIF~ Stocking up on Drugs ~

Never forget all the critical meds you need for diabetes, asthma, arthritis etc. Contact solution and spares. Carry what you can and is safe in your car, cottage and office. I recommend ten days worth in the offsite spots mentioned. Your in your car and can’t get home, you will need supplies with yo...

Re: Benefits of wood ash.

Used it during ice storm of 98. And other times. Spread around parking, paths and entrance hill. Immediate traction and draws sun/heat to the ice

Re: Leaving the Hospital... Epiphany

Late post here, but hope all has settled. Yes, we do need a ton of medical supplies, food etc. Good friends or family to help with recovery. If stuff did happen when primary guy or gal is down, everyone else will need to fill his or her boots. One item that may be forgotten is adult diapers? If peop...

Re: TGIF ~ How To Get Clean Water ~

Katdyne water filters are nice to have in the home, car and go bag. Stuck on 401, go to a ditch,or a little into the woods etc Keeping water in you vehicle means leaving enough space for it to expand during freeze. I also change my car water out at least three times a year. Helps with taste and I kn...

Re: Storing food across temperature extremes?

Note to my previous post. Geared more to a shelter than storage for food. I wouldn’t store food underground unless it was fully dry, cool and rodent free.idealy under or very near home

Re: Storing food across temperature extremes?

Underground or hillsides will get wet in spring, when raining a great deal. Would have hated to be in one this wet summer. Can we say soggy and miserable. I guess if designed with a waterproof roof and walls, with drainage all around and then covered with earth they would work very well on the side ...

Re: Major Telecom Service Outage in the East

Cash is king and if you can, have a few hundred tucked away in wallet or purse at all times. Same for in go bag you have in car, office, cottage etc. For gas, get past doorman or parking booth attendant in office tower, wave to taxi driver so you can get out of downtown chaos as things unfold, medic...

Re: Storing Propane Tanks/Cooking During a Power Outage

I have others sources as well, but this will be my main unit for easy on and off use. Buy a case of 12 tanks and your good for a good time in an apartment or urban home. When possible, ...
