There are two grades of gasket material... White gaskets are rated for 1000 degrees, which can be easily surpassed in a wood stove. It happens to me once or twice a year. Bronze colored gasket is rated to 2000 degrees...harder to surpass. I recommend getting the bronze gasket if available...if not, ...

Sounds like you need a new gasket kit. It's an easy DIY job...check the hardware store where they sell stove parts...probably around 15 - 20 bucks.
I change mine every year just to make sure it's keeping air tight.

Welcome to the forum LePatriote.
The Quebec forum IS still active, although it has less members than most other provinces.
I don't get to the Alma region often (or should I say at all), but I can be found most of the summer long near Upton.

Built myself an interface for PC to Ham radio that keys up morse code!
Now I can type a mesage, click a button, and *poof* it gets sent out as morse code!
Can't wait to build a NVIS antenna and do some range testing with the little QRP rig!

Saw one today at a garage sale...1750 watt, can't remember the exact model, but was told it came from a police cruiser.

The Excalibur has been fired up and will likely be running every day for the next 2 weeks. Here is the first run of Sumac DSCF0062.JPG I have already done one large 9 tray run of parsley and have another one to do as well as another smaller 4 tray run of sumac. There is plenty more sumac in the patc...

You must be right...no $1 LED bulbs here, but they did have 2 pk 60 watt equiv. for $3.00.
Bought enough to change out the bulbs we use most often or stay on longest.

Absolutely right...that's why exterior doors for residential are hung to swing inward.
Commercial doors are different as many are required to open outward so that panic bars can be used for emergencies.
