Whatever Happened to Peak Oil

Postby cernunnos5 » Mon Mar 21, 2016 5:36 pm

Well, I am done folks.
I made the decision to stop blogging everywhere. It was one final blowout with a duchebag bullying people into believing that global warming is a good thing. It broke my heart.

I almost thought of just letting the spam cleanup time limit just run down and disappear. But I have one final post to do after this one that will sum up the series I have blogged.

I have always likes Chris Martensons quote. " It is where Energy, The Economy and the Environment overlap that the greatest story of any generation will be told."

I almost hit this same point last year, ready to tap out, but the three main things I did this year were worth documenting for others. Harnessed Pig raising. The lean to Greenhouse. The Dead Hedge. But in the end, I owe people nothing. And my good deeds can only go so far without hurting myself. I just dont groove on being public.

Sooo. A few decent posts this week. Whatever Happened to Peak Oil- A podcast where Howard Kunstler interviews Art Berman. This may help those in alberta get a grip with what is going on. http://kunstler.com/podcast/kunstlercas ... -peak-oil/

Cassandras Legacy sums up why I can no long do these posts. I have to add....the liars always win because they have to keep putting more energy into it to convince others that their lie is real. They are at war with themselves.
http://cassandralegacy.blogspot.ca/2016 ... loped.html

And our ecological predicament. February 2016. Enough said. http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2016/0 ... ka-arctic/

Last night just before heading to bed, a small moment of clarity hit. For some reason I said to myself, "I dont have to Be 'C5' anymore" and it felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

Unfortunate to see you go. I enjoyed reading up on wild (and complicated imo) tasks you undertook...hope you reconsider.

You are absolutely right...you don't HAVE to be C5 anymore.
Many of us here have appreciated your posts and even gotten a few chuckles over the years.
But I completely understand...posting shouldn't feel like a burden and I don't want ANYONE here posting out of a sense of duty.
I have every belief that we haven't heard the last from you...but it should be on YOUR terms.

Thanks everyone.....but its jumping the gun a bit. I mentioned above that I will do one final post or topic that will tie together the posts and videos since I came on grid and went public in 2009-10.

I was just looking at some older posts and notice that you were trying to set up a preppers group a few years ago.
Are you still looking at that and have you set up one ??
I am in Sydney, NS. a bit north.

Place holder for the moment...busy as hell but will try to be articulate when I get a minute, stay the course please.

Allright Whats going on here.....I came across this....http://www.cammather.com/current-events ... er-thoreau Seems you arnt the only one... or are you? Has anyone seen these two together? Are they one in the same?...inquiring minds find the coincidence suspicious......

Do what you must ofcourse. Your opinions and perspective will be missed. You are a heavy hitter for the "doing team" (for lack of a better expression), and the balance beam will skew heavy the other way with you off it. Genuine characters, or mabey I should say sincere ones without hidden, parallel or conflicting motives are the exception on the net, and I don't doubt you as one. If your future travels bring you to Alberta, Know There is both a good bottle of rum waiting at my place, and my sardonic nature to enjoy, or if its just the rum you want, I understand.
I will pm you my email address.

The hardest part of constructing the atom bomb, or of putting a man on the moon, wasn't solving all the technical problems to reach the goal, it was staying the course and trying through repeated failures to get there, not knowing if it could be done....once done...then any nation could see such things were within their reach should they stay the course once started down.
You have shown how far someone can go and do if they stay the course, its a shame that example will be gone.

Just back to add that the above must be the worst examples of disproportionate analogies ever used, but nothing appropriate or comparable to pig raising, gardening and such came to mind.

wow....people like me. That's nice. :? Im sort of creeped out by being respected. Now in my 50th year, if I grow the balls to traverse the continent by MC again, I am more than happy to drink peppercorns free booze. It might still happen. I am intrigued by this. http://www.wastelandweekend.com/ . Forget burning man. This is more my flavour. Long live nerds with guns and sexy fashion sense.

Im still working on my "Final Post". What I have wrote so far just sounds winy. I think it is going in the garbage. On the homefront....11 piglets were born. I cant believe ...I'm actually saying that. It used to just be an idea. Now it just means...more fencing jobs. oh joy.

Our first community members move onto the property in the next week or so. The next prospects are waiting to meet them. I will focus my energy there. My greatest motivator in life is having people tell me, " it cant be done ".

Maybe, I will make my final post a "Gun Post". Just to keep people guessing. 1200 posts here and well over a million views of my assorted posts...telling people weapons aren't near as important as...every thing else that you cant actually survive without...now, maybe I can show one of my cool builds without guilt. 1200 posts. Only one gun porn post. That sounds like a balanced aproach ;) and fun way to leave.
