New to the network, but not to surviving. Call me Patch, and remember you can't live off the land and survive, BUT you can live with the land and thrive

Hello,
I am new here. I've read some of the posts here on/off for a few weeks, and decided it was time to join.
I am just starting. I'm also reading alot here and there on websites. I did not start out thinking I should
be prepping, but was looking for something else. I was drawn in to the idea, because I already
was doing some food and supplies prepping each winter for 5 - 6 months and the prepper concept was
similar but far superior and organized. Now instead of stocking my freezer and pantry, I need to think
differently. It is a somewhat overwhelming.

hi everyone, wanted to say hi to all , im new to prepping, a year this week :D I was reading some of the posts and I think this is a great site as I didn't think to many
Canadians were into prepping, and some are even neighbours.. I also keep it to my self now as others seem to think im nuts , I know the world isn't going to end but its definatly about to make some changes,
I was researching the affects of japan last night ... wow!! frightening.. ( im on Vancouver island , right in the path of radiation )we do get many winter storms and its nice to be able to tuck in and not have to go out in it cuz you have to get milk...
I do find it hard to find certan things around the area maybe some of you can make suggestions, they would be much appreciated ! so any of you in C.R drop a line or two
maybe we can get together and brainstorm some prep ideas thanks all and have a great evening :P cheers!!

Hi, I'm Tee :).
40, mum of 2, child of hippies. I've got a bunch of homesteading skills, sewing, canning, cooking, a bit of gardening, sprouting, first aid, lots of kid centred things, some cob building, shiatsu and yoga (teacher) for keeping healthy, and a strong background in nutrition and natural health/healing. I like to teach and I like to learn new things. I'm looking for community because I think it's necessary for people to come together and help each other survive and thrive. We can't each do all things and do them well, it's ok to specialise and to rely on others for what they do well that you can't. Sometimes when I think about all that's involved in prepping I get utterly overwhelmed. I can keep house, grow the garden, tend animals, raise babies, and even hunt but there are other essential things that may be beyond my abilities and the way to overcome that limitation is to join forces. I think it's important to honour our strengths and to appreciate the strengths of others and to teach our kids to do the same. The valuable skills of survival are sometimes overlooked in favour of proficiency with technology and as fun as that can be it won't help you much when shtf. I'm working at honing my own survival skills and helping my kids find theirs.
Blessings on all of you. Thanks for welcoming me to your group.

Hi everyone~ I'm Not too new to the prepping idea, I had been in the country raising small livestock and being self sufficient on an acreage for over 16 years but have moved to the city because of my Mom's health almost 3 years ago, and really hating it, and am planning on escaping back to the country somewhere next summer.
Single F, early 50's. Raised my family (now all on their own) on rabbits, goats, poultry and our garden and loved every minute of it.
I didn't do as much canning and dehydrating then, as I do NOW and I am addicted :D
Looking for like-minded friends, and more.
When is pepping considered hoarding?
