My favourite "preppers forum" is the NZ wwoofers website. The reason for this is that many of the hosts live in a self-sufficient/off grid/sustainable way. In other words, just by the way they choose to live they are already well prepared for a shtf situation. They don't have to go anywhere or do anything, just keep doing what they are already doing. These are the people I am keen to network with/meet/work with/live with.

The Collapse doco is quite interesting but I'm not sure I like the style. It's quite dramatic and alarmist. I've shown to a few friends and I get the feeling they didn't take it all that seriously.
Guys like Richard Heinberg, Al Bartlett and William R Catton are much better.
Having said that there isn't a lot Michael Ruppert says in his doco that I don't agree with.

I must agree, I found the Doco a little scripted, well it felt that way anyway, but I agree, its hard to walk away from what he is saying.

I have started looking into the Wwoofers website, after you emailed it to me, its rather interesting.

We stayed with some wwoofing hosts near Paraparaumu for 10 days over xmas/new years. They explained that they would like people to live on their land with them and extended the invitation to us, but the location was wrong and they were still a fair way from being self sustained. It was still a good experience and we enjoyed it heaps. I'm looking forward to doing a lot more of it in Nelson.

I like the concept behind wwoofing, but many groups appear to be along way from self sustaining. Its a good start thats for sure.

Hi All, is there anyone out there in Bay of Plenty??

In 4 years of prepping we have never managed to meet anyone like minded.

Why not come into the Canadian Preppers site?
We like Kiwis, ost of the info is general enough except some references to local natural foods and some stores. We are Canadian, we share :)

Cigarettes are just like HedgeHogs, perfectly harmless until you put them in your mouth and light them on fire.
