Advice for securing preps

Soo... How ones one protect preps from rodents when they are so determined that they chew holes through plastic buckets? Lost 80lb of Durham flour and 80 litres of Water plus some miscellaneous bits n pieces. Forgot to add, they also ate their way up through the workshop floor.

regular bait traps and a good supply of blocks to keep mice-rats out and a good supply of de dirt to help keep bugs out.. its a never ending battle, but in a nut shell, you need to give them something easier then the buckets, sorry for your losses

Ouch, sorry about your losses.
I keep my buckets of stuff, and even wrapped stuff not in buckets, inside an old non-working fridge or deep freezer in the garage (not anything that will freeze). These old appliances are all are surrounded by metal and so far no pests have invaded them.

We have one of those...the only buckets we've had a problem with are in the outdoor feed bin near the chicken coop.
We also encourage the garden snakes on the property...seen a few field mouse butts hanging out of a snake mouth!
