America's Propaganda Campaign

The US had proclaimed that they were going to get tough on the propaganda in one of their earlier senate meetings and it appears that an all-out campaign is now being enforced.

- NATO: seems this 4:30 video discusses the propaganda war being waged by Russia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qszwrXtVLv4
this British broadcast uses the underdog approach when comparing the small budgets of Ukraine against the mighty Russian backed RT news. They show a website debunking such as the satellite imagery showing a jet shooting MH17. A point I made earlier regarding this specific picture was that it finally shows the true capabilities of orbiting satellites and thus could therefore show the events that actually did occur. Therefore the withholding of this evidence still makes them suspect as they keep this evidence secret.

Other things not covered in this story is the issue of how RT's methods are more believable than other news agencies. This is done using the old tactics of presenting actual footage of an event as evidence, instead of today's dramatic statements made from reporters standing somewhere totally unrelated, proclaiming such and such occurred and thus only providing innuendo that it occurred that way. RT uses this approach daily and thus I then have proof to show all of you proper evidence in turn. Yes, RT does hire attractive women, but they seem to also have the intellect to go head to head with CNN. Seems RT still goes behind the lines as all reporters used to do before the invasion of Iraq. I'd say this aspect still works best as it is far harder for others to deny later. Seems only RT gets to pick their stories apart as often proof come into play regarding most events these days.

- South front: this video asks if you think Ukraine has Fascists https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMh5dmFV1AM
They touch on another video showing they have no Fascists there. Yet those marches shown are from around April last year and there are indeed alot of folks to make up such crowds. Then it shows Poroshenko's new government and his public address of what he thinks of those who live in the east. Imagine that this is our Prime Minister openly showing his hatred towards his countrymen. Would you fear his ruling over you?

So why do we would we back such a Fascist society and then go to such extents to lie and deceive the public to believe they are the good guys? Follow the money as it seems alot of it is being spent to create this illusion. Yet we make public the billions spent and it is even obvious that this is reward for Ukraine's ability to meet the goals set forth for the cash handouts. Never before has corruption been made such a public event. But a lie is concocted and a formal explanation given for the handover, so many proclaim that it can't be a bribe!

- Jesse Ventura interviews the Young Turks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHZSCFX ... e&index=26
A great discussion about US policy and why the US invaded Iraq and others. How they and other major figures were silenced by NBC news. They walk down the line of government rulings with facts to show corruption rules the US today.

- Pro-Russian Recruiting ad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JoT_JWUGnY
They state the moral values of the eastern people and then lead into why they must defend them. Your basic "Fight for what is Right" concept and yet they haven't had to conscript because the people can see easily see the hatred of their enemy and therefore know if they don't, total genocide is likely.

- NBC News: reporter tries to paint bad picture of Russia's economy but fails https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEeWJRf8djg

Another Door Closed!

So what has happened with the web media regarding YouTube? It seems that this new censorship has blocked almost anything anti-American from being posted for us to see. The only information showing up for the last week is now just reposts of old videos to only confuse those who search here for truths. This new tactic indeed makes the pursuit of finding a needle in a haystack far harder as it is now like having to do it blindfolded too. Add to that there is a new abundance of anti-Russian propaganda being created daily to suggest that Russia is ready for invasion and mentions of how unprepared we are for this possibility. Seems sort of like the Pearl Harbour con has being dusted off and maybe ready to be replayed once again.

Misinformation is a common tactic often mentioned in the "Art of War" and constantly used in WWII. Many scholars of war believe Sun Tzu to have been a great strategist as the his first act in his book "The Art of War" is to show that any aspect of war is not to be taken lightly. Seems to me Sun Tzu's overall methodology was to distract with one hand so as not to see the dagger held in the other hand. In essence, he was a teacher that suggests mankind is full of treachery and none are to be trusted, including that of the teacher. Was Sun Tzu therefore a fascist? He indeed taught one should destroy all opposition....

Is this the way we want to live? Are these the standards we want to promote for or children to teach others too? Presently we are promoting just such to take place as our laws are being rewritten to accommodate misinformation as an acceptable medium. Soon folks will be arrested for promoting the truth while the charges laid that will suggest disloyalty to their nation... for this is the true path of Fascism.

- RT News: US wants a deal with Russia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_phmdTnwQe4
would you trust the US after all the deal breakers they have already committed? This too is just another ploy to look like they want peace. Do our leaders think that Putin doesn't have his own copy of "The Art of War" laying around too? These are old promises that have been broken too many times already and they are only being reused to fool those who really haven't been paying attention so far anyways. The irony is that these same persons are often the first to spread such propaganda to the masses as though they are experts regarding this topic... why not as they helped vote those who control us to a position of power to destroy that which they never built!

Have you noted the type of threads that I've used lately. They suggest little in opposition to US policy to even make it through the censorship screening. Just go backwards to see the reality of this truth.....

I know there are a few will be happy to see this thread end. Yet those people should maybe check to see if what I state is indeed true. But the misinforamation is deep and they likely won't know which is old or new anyways. And yet if what I suggest is true, another door has closed that they didn't even know was there....

And for those who slept through it all, the lesson is over... you can wake up now

Later 8-)

Yes, I found reason to finally place another post here. No, censorship is tighter than ever and thus what I present is using that which they wish us to see and show you just how extreme their propaganda is becoming now!

-Ukraine Today: NATO states that they are not interested in Ukraine joining at this time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1jRG7sBkIU
they also mention that Russia would not mind if Ukraine did join... seems RT says different and as UT often notes, they indeed are the voice of Russia

- Ukraine Today: now tells that no one recognizes those in east Ukraine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_2q6-x8caA
propaganda to convince you that those in the east are just pirates laying claim to what isn't theirs. Seems your supposed to forget that these people already lived there before they overthrew the last government.

- Ukraine Today: pointing fingers again for corruption https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzsitd-IqvU
Isn't it amazing that the country taking obvious bribes for committing atrocious acts should call another corrupt?

- How about a look at someone who has been subject to a lifetime of Fascist brainwashing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOf3rLGdWuU
This is a soldier who brags of family's heritage to the Nazi party and partaking in the Odessa massacre. He is being filmed in the dark under night vision and is unaware that the camera is present.

These are the kinds of volunteer soldiers that have been armed and backed by NATO and tasked to do their dirty work. The news media tries to claim that the Fascists are no longer in power and that these people really want democracy. Does this soldier's perspective meet that of a democratic viewpoint? Surely they all can't think like this guy...

On January 1, 15,000 people march in Kiev over celebration of Bandera's birthday (leader of the Nazi party)for the liberation of Ukraine in 1941. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/worl ... a/4279897/ Tell me again these people are not Nazi Fascists! We should have taken the hint from the "SS" markings on their helmets and flags. Maybe the carvings of swastika's into prisoners was also a sign they were Nazi's too. The sadistic killing of 40-100 persons(who's counting) at Odessa was only a catalyst compared to the many months of shelling civilians in the east... And these are the people we are sending weapons to daily so they can kill those who oppose them. We are making deals with the bad guys and thus, we are the bad guys too!

There is no explanation to our supporting these actions other than we too must have a corrupt system to pretend otherwise. No one is really fighting for democracy there! This all appears to be just a stall tactic to keep the Russian's currency from destroying the US dollar for as long as possible. And if the American economy is predicted to collapse soon, the US government sure doesn't want to contend with a bunch of trained military personnel who get back home just to discover they have no pensions or jobs anymore. Keep them all abroad instead and thus maybe a war would be a nice distraction.....

France's Terrorist Attacks

The last I'd heard mentioned on France was that they were opting out of NATO due to economic sanctions drastically hurting their unstable economy. Then the media blackout began and is still enforced today. Now it seems France is the target for terrorist attacks. Is this a tactic to somehow dissuade their people from opting out of NATO or is this just coincidence? And are they attacks even real?

- ABC News: shows that 2 Muslim brothers identified as killers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxqqBnG43PI
Seems these guys stopped an old lady to say that they were El'kida from Yeman. Sort of a dumb convenient thing to do isn't it? But this made it much easier to know why they did it and just who did it....seems kinda like the Boston Marathon bombers wrote this script too...

- seems some folks are questioning the video as fakes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1AwZsdTq1E
they do appear to have valid points as shown and the cameraman seems to be doing a good job of filming without fear given his close proximity to the crime. What, that's not enough? How about another attack?

- 2nd terror attack analyzed by viewer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXJ5mha2XAU
This guy really walks you thru it and shows alot of suspicious flaws. So why would they fake this stuff?
Is there some reason to portray terrorism is back and is this supposed to be provocation to justify a response by the US in turn?

- ABC News: brothers cornered and state at time 3:26 they want to die as martyrs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06V2B2_P1Pw
of course this is according to a US intelligence official.. why not Scotland Yard or MI5 for once instead? It always seems like news is being spoon fed to us these days and our place is not to question why!

I don't pretend to know how a terrorist supposedly thinks, but their tactics seem very unexplainable. Officials proclaim they are intelligent enough to calculate and pull off this attack, yet they somehow lack the logic to not consider their actions seem to benefit their enemy more than their supposed cause? If France had personally done Muslims some wrong lately, maybe this attack would seem better suited. This Random killing of innocents is only working in their enemies favour, at a time well suited to their enemies needs, and just this aspect makes folks wonder if it then is staged for otherwise it seems there is no motive. We humans need a motive to motivate us(hence the word association), especially if we are likely to die doing it...

But now if a couple of patsies were set up for the kill in a convenient place and taken out before they might even get to proclaim their innocence(ya, like the Marathon bombers were)....

(No, I'm not reaching here, I was just sorta stretching).....

Meanwhile,What Is Going on in Ukraine

-Press TV: shows Ukraines economy is gone and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hV3pmCArjiI
shows handouts not fixing anything but the bribes are still making the rich smell pretty

- Reuters: Poroshenko proclaims their military is now one of the most powerful in Europe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9Xpl1okhhQ
while presenting equipment given to him by NATO to do their bidding... then he states how he wants peace

- Ukraine Today: the US is relocating it's European troops closer to the Russian front https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCFulz2bt-s
Seems US wants more soldiers to be closer to the action.

- StormCloudsGathering: states what is likely coming for 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTLKYLpedGk
this guy always has proof to back his claims and his predictions seem usually worth noting.

- Sky News: So here is the grand finale to the terrorists in France. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Laj4x-RipE
As predicted, they were shot dead by the police. As I assumed they would be, simply by the previous comments given by the reporters. Even they mentioned those comments coming from the police held the finality that they'd have to shoot them and that they'd obviously go out as martyrs....obviously! Seems they granted them this end without any reservation. Why not let them live and show the world the terrorists alive instead? Oh ya, they might deny being terrorists, I forgot...

So why is there doubt as to the reliability of this news and these videos seem to contain obvious tampering to create this doubt? I'd also asked before what France could have done to make themselves a target for such a crime... seems that these news cartoonists had just taken a video to show their consideration before placing a cartoon about Muhammad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHE-CVE1zJA

Though the documentary shows them being considerate in oh so many ways, you should ask yourself why they made this documentary in the first place.... did they suspect that it would create controversy? Seems coincidental that there is just such a video ready to go after a supposed terrorist attack made upon them. I'd say they were fully aware of this being considered antagonistic and wonder why they therefore didn't consider the possibility that extremists would react. Somehow they seemed sure they were safe from such a ploy and now they are all dead and can't say any more either! Dang, another coincidence they were all gathered for just this possibility!...

But this also occurred at the exact time that the populace of France was protesting the effects that imposed sanctions are having to their already failing economy. Now they are protesting this random terrorism instead.... seems coincidence has now put the French on the path against Islam instead.

- Harper gives a speech on Radical Islam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOwM9UT5_5E
a nice down-to-earth speech about today's world events and Canada's role..or is it? Did you note the turban in the background? Is it just coincidence he was there during this speech? Is this speech be presented just due to the supposed attacks in France?

Why does our government not mention or at least consider the possibility that these events in France are staged as provocation to react in turn? Is this possibility not even worth considering first before we commit? I seem to now see such things as them setting us up for that time when (this is when you puff up your chest) "we all agree that Canada too must raise against this obvious threat against the freedom of democracy".....!

Investigative Reporting..Who Still Does It?

Seems even with the media blackout still in full swing, sometimes things still occur to still allow us a peek in every now and then. Now Ukraine made a new law awhile back that stated no reporters could film without a military escort given by them. Since then, pretty much all I can show is censored. But today's events show a variety of sides to one story, so let's just see what we can learn about their individual reliability when we compare their stories and use what little we can to determine their "unbiased" opinions.

- Associated Press: shows footage after airport battle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7weON6NmiFU
makes only a minor comment that the airport lies in ruins after rebels took control( suggesting it's all their fault). In reality, it was shelling by the UA that damaged it most to gain possession. They then used it to launch artillery upon Donetsk itself until the rebels took it back months later. Then the UA once again continued the shelling it. The rebels did only a small fraction at most of the total destruction incurred.

- Reuters: 6 civilians killed in Donetsk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04QuBcdNpqA
I think you are to assume that the rebels killed them of course....but these same rebels that exchange captured soldiers for mere captured civilians(only to have more mouths to feed). Reuters isn't outright proclaiming it but they are definitely suggesting the rebels are at fault. But the exclusion of the fact that this event occurred from artillery and instead suggests that it was an intended attack on a bus in rebel territory suggests misleading the public and very poor reporting.

- EuroNews: states that heavy shelling is what hit Donetsk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXj5_k9BADA
they show the same carnage downtown and how some proclaim it was the UA instead....which would be more believable?

- South front: we do have the rebels news on this subject at least https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOnqgvJWstc

- EuroNews: now the rebels bring forth some captured prisoners to the people of Donetsk to vent on after this latest killing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85qAWk_PKv4
This is likely their best recruiting tool as they don't draft like those in the west do. Gotta fill the quota as far more rebels die daily then UA ever do. It's the atrocities such as this that convince those in the east they have few options left but to fight or die.

- RT News: interview with OSCE representative regarding any findings for this latest incident https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgdfE3dNCpg
Now the OSCE rep sounds formal suggesting that he wouldn't commit as to whom might be guilty this early. But using this interview, he is directly asked about how they see the overall conditions of the people in the east.
This is where he starts into excuses that the west doesn't have full control over the east and therefore cannot provide for those people. So since March of last year, they couldn't send any aid at all to these folks? Yet OSCE wouldn't even work with Russia to help them either during the 11 convoys of aid.... I don't see OSCE as being very reliable as witnesses( unless you count the members who go renegade later such as German and French reps did earlier).

- BBC News: more honest approach to the obvious https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJSCCZDfbWY
So they pretty much admit that Ukraine did the shelling, but state only one prisoner was brought and beaten by the crowd where others show different. They go on to state that the rebels are well equipped and again forget to mention that the east region was a weapons and ammunition's manufacturer before this civil war began. Also never mentioning that their constant aerial reconnaissance has yet to show even 1 piece of equipment go over the Russian border in all this time....if they did catch even 1 piece crossing, they'd proclaim it an invasion and shout it to the world.

- Ukraine Today: so what does the west say about this attack? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjV6Q9DzpCc
They proclaim the captured soldiers were just fighting for Donetsk airport, a strategic location, and that parading them was against the Geneva convention. Yet these same folks don't abide by humanitarian acts of using cluster bombs and other such illegal weapons upon civilians. Nor do they mention that when they last held the airport themselves, they shelled the city of Donetsk for months from this position. Finally, they claim to have run the license plates shown and they are Russian owned...I'm sure they wouldn't just make something like that up?

I still have a hard time believing that with all this evidence showing you what is truly occurring in Ukraine, there appears to be still some who believe that those in the west are the good guys. They dismiss the Nazi SS platoons and all the constant shelling of those in the east. Maybe it is because OSCE and the Red Cross won't even recognize the plight of these people in the east. Yet logic suggests they'd have to be very bad at their jobs to miss all this evidence or otherwise under the power of others and thus corrupted themselves. The west will not even recognize that many in the east have absolutely received no support for food and heat other than that given to them by Russia alone for the remaining 4 million people.... maybe chew on that for awhile!

Your cracking me up with your title "investigative reporting"...yea right, First you would have to have Reporters that that value the truth for truths sake, You would have to have reporters that trust nothing and verify everything, Reporters If independent, that would have the resources(financial) to travel and investigate, if funded by a organization, said organization must not have a influence on the content. Even if you could find this mythical creature, So what? If the story isn't of content that fits the narrative of: inserts organization of choice here, government, interest group, news organization, think tank, etc he/she may as well have stayed in bed as nothing will be published.
Investigative reporting is a joke, there isn't any...Reporters...few if any....more like stenographs, that's all they are now, Just stenographs..pretty ones to be sure...that's the only real requirement for a reporter now.
Ukraine has been claiming 500 Russian tanks invaded , been claiming this all week...now don't get me wrong I would not be one bit surprised if I got up one morning and 10 times that number were there, but I would like to see some evidence, even a little...think maybe a single sat picture? during the Balkins conflict the Americans could Daily produce pictures of mass graves and individual ones, even claiming to know the numbers in each, picture quality so fine you could tell a truck apart from a car....yet not a single pic is ever produced of 500 tanks? A tracking radar paints a aircraft flying 30,000 + feet above the Russian/ Ukraine border, launch commands are given and a missile launches a rocket to a height of 30,000 feet and the aircraft is blown out of the sky, yet no signals intelligence of the event was recorded? really? or at least isn't released. A kite cant be launched in that part of the world without a record of its flight path captured.
I am just cranky today...if people keep accepting BS that's what they will be served

Your comment... "and that parading them was against the Geneva convention" no such thing, a worthless piece of paper..prisoners being paraded sounds so mild really....read a account of what the USA does to prisoners..http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/j ... tephen-fry it almost makes a beheading sound merciful
I will believe in the Geneva convention when starting from the top down each and every sociopath that had anything to do with torture is behind bars, and that includes those who thought up the idea, those who provided legal support, and the doctors nurses, involved..then lastly those who carried it out.

24 January 2015: Shelling Incident on Olimpiiska Street in Mariupol

http://www.osce.org/ukraine-smm/136061

<<<....at least 20 people died and 75 people were injured and hospitalized. Ten of the wounded were in a critical condition, according to a hospital representative.>>>

<<<According to the impact analysis, the Grad rockets originated from a north-easterly direction, in the area of Oktyabr (19 km north-east of Olimpiiska Street)myself, and the Uragan rockets from an easterly direction, in the area of Zaichenko (15 km east of Olimpiiska Street), both controlled by the “Donetsk People’s Republic” (“DPR”).>>>

I did not expect knuckle to report on this one, we all know why, so I posted it myself

Seems prom is ready to promote our daily propaganda without even questioning why the rebels would bomb their own people. That question alone would make many reconsider the accuracy of such a claim.

What? You figure I shouldn't call it propaganda? I'll help define that part here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-cl=8 ... 1422327029
Now OSCE has continually proven they are biased as they won't even mention why the shelling of any of the east is justified, let alone how no aid ever is ever offered for those left homeless after. Seems Human Rights Watch will ask such things though and see how little press they get for their efforts?

So lets start with just using some logic first.

1. Who has the artillery to shoot distance and motivation to do so? The west can get OSCE to profess who shot from where as they always have done such things all along if you have followed this thread so far.

2. Which side commonly uses artillery on cities as standard procedure?

3. Why would the rebels fire upon a city which still holds people who are loyal to them, even if they are occupied by the enemy, as some rebels will still have family residing there?

4. Until now, the rebels have only fired upon the cities borders so as not to divide the peoples loyalties as such an action as this will do. That is their M/O so far and why so many side with them in the east.

5. Seems Donetsk was shelled first just a day earlier. The west proclaimed the rebels also did this too...turns out this made a perfect excuse for rebels to go and start shelling Mariupol....not their M/O but the Kiev will sell it that way anyhow.

So here is the logic the west wish you to believe:

- Reuters: 30 die in Mariupol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WF4Uc_iXLxQ
Poroshenko calls it a crime against humanity and claims he will respond...wait....is this not the same guy who has been shelling the east since May? Now he is their protector from those rebels who somehow have decided to shell cities full of innocent people? Cmon, this is just dumb! So why doesn't Poroshenko go there personally and grieve with them in Mariupol? I know, cause the local people would likely kill him as many likely suspect him of this attack!

- Arirang News(Japan): Ukraine declares state of emergency in east https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYKppLLHx8s

- NATO: seems they have a speech all ready to go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84fR49f1jz4
Now NATO goes an extra step in this speech to blame Russia for aiding in this attack (yup, seems they want to kill those on their side too). Seems the same old finger pointing continues to proclaim Russia is behind all this. NATO seems to be leading up to eventually providing Ukraine with lethal aide to fight against Russia itself. They'll get Ukraine to try to reclaim Crimea and when battle with Russia commences, they'll claim they had to step in as this will finally be the needed justification.

So since censorship blocks the local people of Mariupol from correcting any of this, let's see what we can learn from what is out there?

- RT News: shows english speaking soldiers at the scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yUL4qcLJvc

This is pretty good proof that NATO already has boots on the ground and is overall running the show. And that concept would better explain why the EU would continue to pour money into a country which really has no ability to pay them back. Do any of you ever wonder why NATO would donate a vast army of tanks and artillery to a country which is ready to point them at Russia? The answer is there to see....to start a war obviously! And in the meantime, they continue to poke the bear by the continued killings of helpless people in the east. Funny how little our news mentions this daily shelling isn't it?

- Ukraine Today: seems the draft is in full swing in Ukraraine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSewYow-RZc
The buildup is obvious and the shelling of Donetsk and other regions in the east is continual, yet none show this but RT news https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPbl3tQFARE .

- Rtv News(not RT): a new tool to mislead the masses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0QMEc8Redw

So far they are just suggesting that the rebels attacked Mariupol so that Russia could link land to Crimea. This is ab obvious attempt at false propaganda. There is so much propaganda on the web these days proclaiming that Russia behind everything and yet never is there any real proof given. And Russia has been very careful not to do anything to provide such real evidence as our news would then have a hayday and so justify NATO to go into full swing.

Yet do you think Russia will do nothing forever? Seems their patience finally influenced Switzerland to drop the Euro as currency as they could no longer wait. And now the trickle down effects of this action have further weakened the failing Euro while Germany bears even more weight of the failing European economy. Instability is everywhere, not just in Russia. This latest action of civilian shelling may be to take focus elsewhere while reminding people the common enemy is Russia, not the failing Euro. I'm betting that Russia is hoping for economic collapse to save them from having to fight a world war instead.

But even the Bible suggests that Russia (ya know...king of the north) will attack according to various faiths. With all that is occurring these days, it now seems even this prediction could be in our near future. In fact that many such prophecies regarding Armageddon could be met these days as we are indeed living in a time when the four horsemen are showing themselves....famine, disease, war and natural disasters too. Seems folks at this time will be full of themselves, unwilling to listen and eager to do battle. Yup, were there!

I've been expecting that eventually RT news too will be blocked as they are pretty much the last source of any oppositional news. And I'm even betting they'll maybe even try to sell the blocking of them as a patriotic act. Darned if they don't seem to be discussing it even now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WD_NAEtUnI Remember Hitler used this same tactic of controlling the media, but he didn't buy the local ones off as is being done today.

I find that I am continually losing faith in mankind overall, as many still refuse to see through such obvious smoke screens to focus on the real facts. I am indeed tired of defending what I know to be true and to argue with those who'd follow such dribble so easily. I no longer have the heart for this pursuit. So I guess that those folks will have to find others to argue with instead..... I no longer care to try to convince others anymore of the lies they are being fed daily! It is time to do something else instead.

Re: The Power of Suggestion (Psychology 101)

Time for some psychology again? (no, this isn't the basic boring kind served in lectures)

I came across this interview this morning with the Kevin Mitnick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXAngBPaZwE
He was made famous as being the most renouned computer hacker ever caught and imprisoned in the USA. Seems he is out and now works as a security consultant finding weaknesses in commercial / corporate networks. RT News conducted this interview and I found that the questions asked of Kevin were specific and very informative to the viewer (lets say not likely questions that most American news agencies would ask). And it was easy to see that this interview was in no way preplanned as Kevin avoided answering some questions completely. After watching and then going about my day, I've had some hours to sort thru the whole process and conclude there was an underlying message that the interview shared with it's viewers.

Now RT was definitely pointing out the potential of hackers to have the potential of playing a modern day Robin Hood role in today's society instead of just being the shady villain that our media presents them as. RT brings up the uncovering of US gov't spyware being discovered lately. Kevin was constantly cautious not to demote the US in any way for their actions and likely does not wish to appear on their radar as a priority target again. Seems 5 years in prison has left an appreciation for freedom.

Sophie is one of their sharper reporters I've seen and she always seems to have good questions. She works at various angles to steer the conversation, but Kevin even has his own agenda here too. Instead of playing along with the role presented as the world's greatest super hacker, he instead shows himself as a once simple kid playing with code as a sort of game. In the end, he showing us that he was made an example of by the US government, as to what the US government can and will do the cyber criminals. This then comes across more as a warning that the US media will paint a picture to condemn any individuals who might use their hacker knowledge to thwart government actions and such. One should note that Kevin later states the government only caught him because he was ratted out by a friend.(meaning their not that good...)

With the mention of the Snowden testaments, Kevin quickly describes how the NSA now collects everyone's personal data to later use on targeted individuals. Seems Snowden's testaments show the NSA has all the crypto keys for our cellphones. Kevin hints a suggestion to get a new simcard as a counter measure, but then states that the service provider could still sell you out anyways.

They then go into the social engineering part of hacking. This is where you get the phone call from an IT expert telling you they work for Microsoft or such. It appears that this part is still critical for many hackers even today. Kevin brags that using these same tactics with his company today, they still have a 100% success rate. This too should be a warning to viewers that is seems we are ALL still susceptible to this con.

Now Kevin finally mentions that there are cell phone programs that will help you protect yourself. Also to trust landline phones for privacy! Kevin points out to download "Red Phone" for Android and "Silent" for iPhone as the simplest means of attaining a decent measure of privacy(against your own government). Next Sophie mentions the fingerprint programs such as touch ID. Kevin expands to how the laws can even use this feature against you. He suggests that reboot your phone before crossing any border and why. This knowledge is definitely another piece of advice worth remembering.
