No problems...that still leaves Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
No wait, Thursdays are out for me...
Weekend days are also an option.

Sounds good. I can do most week days. Let's see what others availability looks like and we can go from there.

To be a ham, you need to pass an exam by Industry Canada...50 t/f or m/c questions.
Many amateur radio clubs offer a course that lasts a few weeks covering basic electronics, station setup, regulations, etc.
A pass is 70% which gives you access to the VHF/UHF bands. A pass with 80% or more gives you limited power access to the HF bands.
Google amateur radio clubs in your area and contact them to see in/when a course may be coming up.
The instructor that taught me has set up an online course here http://www.raqi.ca/node/359 but you would still need to take the exam at IC...although the certificate is good for life with no renewal fees.

Soo..went to the website and the repeater has an anti-kerchunk feature, so I can't "test" my access until there is either a scheduled net, or someone else wants to coordinate a test transmission using it.

It's just a .5 second delay...key up, give your call sign and say "monitoring.
after about a minute, repeat your call sign and say "end monitor"
Or...just key it up for 1 second.
I hear kerchunks all the time...no real biggie.

Just tried...couldn't get anything. Is there a ctcss tone? I found a repeater book entry that said no tone so I didn't use one. Didn't hear anything... :(
