Actually I'm surprised your picture wasn't pulled for other reasons.

The military zip cuffs are plastic but have a metal locking tongue inside the locking mechanism. The metal tab only gets tighter the more you pull and they are near impossible to manipulate them open. Your best bet is to fight before they get put on you.

Glockman described it far better than I did. Thanks.

Well - the moral of the whole story is this: if you get tied up by bad guys who are in a hurry they will probably only have access to the cheap version from Home Depot. If so - apparently you can get loose using this method.

The picture was a girl with duct tape over her mouth and zip tied. I suspect the photo had an internal link to an inappropriate site but that it wasn't the intention of the poster to post the link. I didn't delete by the way :)

Through my vast searching for prepper information on the internet, I came upon a really crazy idea by an ex marine on some forum.

1) Get a hacksaw blade. Snap it so it's eight inches long.
2) On the back of your pants, where the belt loops attach to... inside of the waist band, slice a one inch vertical slit on the INSIDE of the waist of your pants. This is so that the slit is facing your lower back.
3) Put the eight inch hacksaw blade inside of your pant waist through the slit.

This is a virtually undetectable escape plan. Its application could be used in a variety of situations, but mostly, it's probably the best way to get unbound inconspicuously.

Hope this makes sense. But if it doesn't, I might just illustrate a tutorial.

There are lots of folks that have the 300 and higher rating zip ties.. I used to buy em by the case 1000 at a time. working in the oilfield they are often handy..

First of all, if you are trying to get out of zip ties, you are a criminal. Not sure why this post was started. I agree with the previous poster who knew the difference in strength of ties. As well, they never use a single tie. They use two which are looped together.
