We are back on the grid after a few days out. The power came on for a two hour period yesterday but thankfully I didn't fully trust it would stay on so we rushed around refilling the bathtub and washing dishes and taking showers. We ran out for some extra gas for the generator just in case but otherwise all is well

Looks like many of us in southern Ontario will get a chance to deal with this for real today and tomorrow. Hopefully we'll all come through with flying colors or the storm ends up being a big todo about nothing.

Hi LaLuna - welcome :) The fats in the nuts will go rancid after a time. If you wanted to store them longer than their original date you could freeze them. Goldie - If you are using canning jars with the food saver attachment I would not use an O2 absorber for any of these as the seal with just the attachment is really good. For SURE don't put it in the sugars or you will have rock formations - not good. The more powdery items may get sucked up into th...
