Well I gave husbandface a pound of pink preserving salt (Prague Powder) for Xmas and he gave me a new dehydrator...fancy square Nesco one.
So that's our newest preps additions.

All the information I've found online says yes...you can if they're packed into Mylar. I have rice packed into Dairy Queen pails...the ones with the rubber seal that you can take out of the lid to clean. My daughter used to work there years ago. You can get food grade buckets from TSC stores and fee...

Black and red currants, raspberries, Haskap berries...and rhubarb...a few strawberry plant we set in the garden that were bought as hanging baskets last year.
I only use rhubarb as a "fruit" so I'm counting it ;)

Local Loblaws affiliated grocery chain (Fortinos) has it on at a super good price so we loaded up on the low salt variety.
$1.50 off per can is quite a deal.

5 quart Lodge dutch oven off of Kijiji for $20 ... needs a little cleaning up but there's no rust and it's still fairly well seasoned. We'll give it a proper clean and re-season it. Nuts...I'm using bulk Coscto nuts that I sealed up in 2 cup portions and stored in my fruit cellar . I marked each bag with the BB date from the original package. I'm eating nuts that are 6 months past the BB date...walnuts, almonds and pecans do well...I'm finding the hazelnuts are hit or miss when...
