Fabulous Resource

Years ago, when I was still married, my now-ex-husband's aunt gave me what I have discovered is a priceless book. She knew I was interested in country living and she gets it because they live on a country property. She gave me a book called Country Women: A Handbook for the New Farmer. It was publis...

Re: The Soft Apocalypse- Revisiting The Slow Crash

Yes, being debt-free is something that I am working on. I have debt that I accumulated over a few years when I was struggling as a single mom. Still a single mom, but making more $$ so now I am making arrangements to pay it all off. This is for various reasons, but primarily so that I can buy my own...

Re: What have you added to your preps this week?

I have added much to my preps in the last little while. First aid supplies here and there, pain meds, antibiotic cream, a proper pack for a BOB, extra food and water, throwing knives, etc. Awesome!

Re: Obama asked about Nuclear War with Russia

I agree that the Ukraine situation is not going to start a nuclear war, the same as Syria didn't. BUT I think Putin is counting on this. He knows perfectly well that the west isn't going to put up military resistance that could escalate into WWIII. Basically, he knows he cam do whatever he wants and...

Re: What are we all doing for physical fitness

Cool discussion about diet and I've done it all and researched this a ton. I was veg for 13 years, I have done raw food, and now I eat meat and dairy. First and foremost, there is no one right universal diet. Everybody is different and reacts differently to food the way every person reacts different...

Re: The Soft Apocalypse- Revisiting The Slow Crash

if you have the ability to do so, you should be planning on growing food, and while seeking out local food is good, they will rise their prices to keep inline with store increases, so there will be no savings to be had at the farmers markets, at least not in my neck of the woods Seedlings are sprou...
