Put another $20.00 into the car kit...canned tuna, can opener, boullion cubes, 50' rope, hand sanitizer, instant rice, etc...
Also, bagged some salt, pepper, garlic powder, coffee whitener, & instant coffee into tiny ziplok bags I found at the dollar store.
2" x 3" baggies - 80/$1.00. Great for individual serving stuff.

yup, knew that Sue, but thanks anyway. This is a part of the storage that gets heavy rotation, so it's not an issue.

Lessee..... preps this week:

Printed out more hardcopy info

added a couple of minor items to the car & home kits

Got my Petzl Tikka XP2 headlamp in the mail from MEC.

3 100' rolls of tin foil, 18 cans of herring and a 4L jar of pickles, weren't many great sale prices this week. I'm hoping to get to the LDS cannery next week but we've got a crazy amount of things scheduled. I'm just waiting for fruit season, peaches, strawberries and blueberries are almost all eaten, will have to bump them up another 20-40lbs each this year. Also started my tomato, cucumber and watermelon seeds yesterday. Not sure if we'll get any watermelon but it will be fun to try.

4L jar of pickles
24 cans of corn
12 cans tomato soup
2 large containers ice tea mix
150 paper plates
2.4 kg chocolate chips

re-reading the book "Food security for the faint of heart: Keeping your larder full in lean times" by Robin Wheeler. She's a BC author and it's a good book to recommend to anyone beginning their food storage.

Being a liability to my family makes me feel very uneasy so I bought a Health Walker off Kijiji on Monday, and added walking to my rehabilitation plan.

We didn't get this yet, but on our next run to Costco...
20 kg bag granulated sugar at just over $22.00
2 kg bag in supermarket is $2.99
Do the math
